Minister to Families
Hometown: Greenwood, IN
Education: Currently working on MDiv at Wesleyan Seminary, BS - biblical studies, Indiana Wesleyan University
Work background: I have headed up the sign department at a small print shop, Spotlight Strategies, for about 4 years. Before that, I worked in wireless sales for 10 years.
Favorite thing about Tapestry: The full inclusion (membership/leadership) and affirmation of all people based solely on their reflection of the image of God, not gender, orientation, or any other cultural markers. We truly welcome all to the table.
Favorite Scripture: “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5
What I like to do for fun: Traveling, camping, hiking, reading
One thing most people don’t know about me: I had a dance-off with Patrick Swayze when I worked in Alaska as a kayak guide. This does not mean I can dance well, I was working for tips.
Favorite quote: “For some reasons the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes (Matthew 5). But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course, that’s Moses, not Jesus. I haven’t heard one of them demand that the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, be posted anywhere. ‘Blessed are the merciful’ in a courtroom? ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ in the Pentagon? Give me a break!” Kurt Vonnegut, A Man Without a Country
